Taiwan Tourism Bureau New York Office has its Times Square Big Screen Campaign Launch today at noon of Nov 21st 2012 right before Thanksgiving Day. Both Ambassador Andrew Kao and Director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau Thomas Chang all attended the screen launch ceremony in Times Square.
In order to promote Taiwan, Taiwan Tourism Bureau entrusted Thomson Reuters to run an advertising campaign at Times Square from Thanksgiving to New Years Eve. The ads will be displayed on Thomson Reuters Sign and NASDAQ Tower targeting the tourists during three largest events including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year Eve.
The goal of Taiwan Tourism is to share the beautiful promotional video shown on the big screen at the most popular tourists stop in New York City, Times Square! Times Square is the world’s most visited tourist attraction, bringing in over 39 million visitors annually. The campaign at Times Square allows Taiwan Tourism to widely target at the tourists from all over the world.
“Manhattan is a world-famous tourist destination, attracting over 50 million worldwide visitors each year, especially the Times Square, a major commercial intersection in Midtown Manhattan,” said Thomas Chang, director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau New York. “It’s important that we target this audience by having continuous advertising messages in front of them”.
In the summer of this year, Taiwan tourism Bureau also launched its ads on the largest double-decker tour bus by wrapping the billboard to fit three double-decker buses to promote Taiwan. The gigantic billboard tour buses traveled to popular attractions in Manhattan, where many tourists gather, such as the Empire State Building, Times Square and Central Park.
