On May 7, La MaMa presented Dancing For Japan 2014. Dancing For Japan is an organization founded by New York Japanese dance artists whose purpose is to give a hand to the victims of the Tohoku-Pacific earthquake and Tsunami.
Even though three long years have passed, the situations of the victims remain uneasy and restless. It is the mission of Dancing For Japan to unite the Japanese artists in New York in order to spread the word across the world, and convey their love and support to the devastated victims.
Dancing For Japan 2014 is composed of many genres of contemporary dances and performances. There were many emotions, which make great connection with the audience. The show has nine individual performances aiming for the same mission.
