ON SEPTEMBER 29 AT IRVING PLAZA, Kollaboration New York held its 6th event and after-party! The winner of Kollaboration New York “TheWantedAshiqz” walked away with $1000 in prize money and earned the title of New York’s premier Asian American performer!
Los Angeles based rapper Dumbfoundead co-hosted alongside Kollaboration Global President Roy Choi, and performed a special set with DJ Zo. Guest performers included electropop trio IAMMEDIC and “superfuture” group Smokey Robotic.
Guest judges included !llmind (Music Producer to 50 Cent, Erykah Badu, Lloyd Banks), Marja Vongerichten (Host of PBS docu-drama Kimchi Chronicles) and Mikey Fresh (Online Music Editor at VIBE.com & Content Manager at MissInfoTV).

As the New York extension of the national Kollaboration movement and 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Kollaboration New York aims to tap into the abundance and variety of Asian American talent unique to New York and develop a supportive network for the city’s budding Asian American talent – a goal fostered from the very birth of Kollaboration, founded by west coast comedian Paul “PK” Kim in 2000.
