“Think Asia, Think Hong Kong” reflects the goals of the Pacific Bridge Initiative (PBI). The 2010 agreement between HKTDC and the US Commercial Service was created to help US companies expand their exports in Asia. Mainly, to showcase Hong Kong’s advantages to the US companies looking for business opportunities.
“Think Asia, Think Hong Kong”’s core program included a symposium and seminars of the latest market intelligence and practical tips in doing business with Asia through 60 renowned speakers, business matching meetings with Hong Kong and Chinese mainland mission delegates, free business consultation, and extensive networking opportunities. More than 3,000 businesspeople from the US partook in the biggest Hong Kong promotion ever organized in the U.S.
Over 100 Hong Kong business leaders visited the US to explore collaborative opportunities with local companies. As Mr. Leung emphasized in his New York address, “these companies know that a presence in Hong Kong is a ticket to the Chinese and Asian markets. They know that if their products or services sell well in Hong Kong, they will also sell well throughout China, a market with 1.3 billion potential customers.”
At the inaugural Hong Kong Dinner at Cipriani 42nd Street hosted by HKTDC, Jack So, Chairman of HKTDC was hosting the dinner. The evening’s guests of honour were the Honourable C Y Leung, Chief Excecutive of the Hong Kong SAR were present and Ms. Heidi Crebo-Rediker, Chief Economist of the US Department of State.
