The attractions around the Long Island City such as LIC Community Boathouse will also be open throughout the event. People can go kayak rides in the Anabel Basin when the local volunteer-run boathouse is open. There are also several free programs offered during the market hours, and of course volunteers are always welcomed.
There are many vendors at this market such as Luke’s Lobster, Butcher Bar, Sweetleaf, M. As if the market was already interesting enough, an upcoming TV show from HGTV will be coming Saturday, July 20. HGTV proudly presents “Flea Market Flip” in the Long Island City. Each week, the contestants on this show are given $500 to explore items at each flea market. They are tasked to search for objects they can purchase, fix and then flip for a higher sum of money. At the end of each show, the contestants have to display their items and battling it out to win the profits they earned. This is a great chance to see a live show in the Long Island City.
LIC Flea now also offers free shuttle bus service from Astoria, Queens, and the pickup will be at the corner of 30th Avenue and 31st Street.
