G.I. Joe Retaliation with Asian American Director and Two Asian Leading Actors

Director of Step Up 2, Step Up 3D, and Justin Bieber: Never say Never, Jon M. Chu, directed another film to be release on March 29, 2013, G.I. Retaliation. In this film the G.I. Joes team does not only have to fight their mortal enemy Cobra, but they also have to defend themselves from threats within the government that condemns their own existence.

Jon M. Chu

Jon M. Chu graduated from University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television and there he has achieved several awards such as the Princess Grace Award, the Dore Schary Award, and Jack Nicholson directing award. He was also recognized as an honoree for the IFP/West program Project: Involve. He also is in a dance crew called AC/DC or Adam/Chu Dance crew.

The cast has a full line up of amazing actors such as; Byung-Hun Lee as Storm Shadow, Elodie Yung as Jinx, Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock, Channing Tatum as Captain Duke Hauser, and many more!

Byung-Hun Lee

Byung-Hun Lee is a Korean actor and is best known for his role in Join Security Area. Byung-Hun Lee along with Ahn Sung-ki, was the first Korean actors to imprint their hand and foot prints on the forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. As Byung-Hun Lee played an amazing role of Storm Shadow in the first G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, he will continue his role as Storm Shadow in this upcoming G.I. Joe sequel. Byung-Hun Lee has won many awards with the most recent being Busan Film Critics Award for Best Actor, Grand Bell Award for Best Actor 2012, Korean Popular Culture 2012 and Arts Award for President’s Award 2011, and many more.

Elodie Yung

Élodie Yung is a French Cambodian actress, who starred in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Les Fils Du Vent, and District 13: Ultimatum. Élodie Yung also appeared on TV police series Les Bleus; premiers pas dans la police seasons 1-3, with Clémentine Célarié, and Mhamed Arezski. Élodie Yung obtained a Master Degree in Law from La Sorbonne and also graduated from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Élodie Yung also played the role of Jinx in the first G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and she too will continue the role in the upcoming G.I. Joe sequel.
