Vivienne Hu made her first appearance at Mercedez Benz Fashion Week with her Spring/Summer 2015 line which was inspired by paintings of famous abstract artist Jackson Pollock.
Vivienne Hu had a business focus background however her passion for drawing, fashion and love of all things creative made her change career paths.
Her color palette for spring/summer season included the classic black and white with hints of colors including a bold yellow and pastel blue and peach. However she balances these pops of colors with neutrals making each garment stand out even more. She was also focused on abstract design and construction therefore holding true to her signature asymmetrical design line and chic presence.
Her garments were made of Organic wool, silk, cotton, jersey, and denim making this collection to be very environmental friendly. Yet there are hints of sheer fabrics and tulle being played around, creating pieces that attracts various types of women whether they are feminine and soft or bold and independent.
Overall her aesthetics of creating unique and trendy designs for a contemporary woman carried with a case of elegance and personality was consistent throughout her designs.
When asked; she felt excited and happy to be at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. She hopes as a designer to see more functional and abstract style in pieces but wants to focus on making her mark in New York and its fashion industry. Although she is New York based, she hopes to communicate more with customers and buyers in China to make custom made designs.
Her advice to future designers is to believe that everything is possible and to continue to pursue possibilities and go forward!
We will look forward to her next project that is focused on collaboration with a famous Japanese Opera Singer.
