Taoray Wang Spring /Summer 2017: Romance in Stripes

Article By Diana Lee/ Eder Guzman

Taoray Wang is back, a welcome presence after her premier at 2015 New York Fashion Week. Her work this fall season has had a more open-minded approach as to what can inspire. It brings to mind big city skylines, as well as the calming scenery of well manicured gardens.

There is also a more bold style. There is greater collection of ideas and form from China, Italy, and Japan, always showing a dichotomy of the old and the new. Her clothes promote a new fashion trend, by using the idea of Made in Shanghai and bringing it to the global stage.

There is much work hearkening back to 1920’s China, showing a take on Mandarin gowns, as well as the American flapper era. Her work embodies the central idea of sildenafil hipertension pulmonar dosis “strength and femininity”, as well as “east and west”. Her clientele is the modern professional woman, ever the trendsetter and jet setter in a highly globalized world.

The edgy style will be available in Manhattan’s Soho store in 2017, as well as Shanghai and Beijing. The show was a take on the female executive, being minimalist, conservative yet bold. Hair was pulled back and in buns, with the clothes being black on white, gray and beige. There were skirts with form fitting trench coats, and belts crossed casually around the waist. It continued with off the shoulder dresses, with an audacious white suit, and more refined wide legged trousers.
