Article by Jui-Chen Hu

“LOVESHADY,” is the name of the collection presented by Sass & Bide, designed by Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton.

The show began with an urban electronic beat, which led the audiences into a fantasy world as they prepared to wow the crowd. The idea “LOVESHADY” explores the ethereal union of gender and a journey of when masculine notion finds the balance and tenderness in femininity. In this collection we can find the mixture of different textures and inspiration from masculine design but transformed into the feminine one, which the sexuality could have been discovered. The colors stay in a monochromatic range, which emphasized the details of the craftsmanship of the dresses.

Silky flow and structural origami coexist in the Sass and Bide S/S 2013, just like the idea of opposing forces of tradition and modernity, they presented a world reflected in the contemporary generation, and provided an idea of mixing the old world and present to become a more futuristic universe.
