New York based designer Samantha Black premier her Spring/Summer 2013 Collection entitled “A Soho Brunch” at LimeLight Marketplace.

The show was attended by celebrities like Elle Varner, Denyce Lawton, Angela Simmons, Olivia, Emily B, Wynter Gordon and many more. The show was also accompanied with a performance by Singer Bridget Kelly.

Samantha Black who is also the designer of SammyB Designs, graduated from the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY in 2005 with a BFA in fashion design. She interned for Jill Stuart and Michael Kors, and worked for Alexander McQueen and the company JimmyZ.

Samantha takes bits and pieces of inspiration from everywhere and her goal is to compliment those with style and to enhance the style of others.
With a wide range of looks, she hopes to appeal to the masses, but mainly females like herself, Tomboys in Pumps!

Her inspiration for “A Soho Brunch” comes from wanting to maintain femininity in the outfits with a touch of edgy that she loves and is known for. The outfits contains a vintage silhouettes with longer skirts, making it “classy but in a funky way” paired with soft colors but bold looks.

The cosmetics were also provided by Keyshia Ka’ior who is head of KA’IOR COSMETICS. The cosmetics add a sparkling but bright glow to the collection.

Meanwhile Alhassan Toure also featured his collection from his brand “Toure Designs for Spring/Summer 2013.

Alhassan Toure made his breakthrough by working for Apollo Signature and designing for hip hop artists like LL Cool J and many more.
He continues to be inspired by his father who was a designer and hip hop culture as he presents both a menswear and womenswear collection. Both contains a sporty but stylish and edgy collection complemented by bold prints and jackets silhouettes. The collection also brings a cool look that fits with the younger generation but also a mature style of an older audience.
