His eye for detail and design is well known, and has had has creative partnerships with Chuck Taylor, Disney and Casa Cuervo.
In 2002 fashion editors recognized him as Newcomer of the Year. Ricardo’s creations are designed with both men and women in mind and are recognized for their uniqueness, cleanliness of fabric detail, and sophisticated fit. His show goes on to exemplify his personal fashion style.
Ricardo Seco’s fashion seeks to captivate and seduce the public while highlighting his native country internationally. He does this by taking symbols for style, from the Waxarika tribe (original name of the huichol Mexican native community.) He explains that he called his collection DREAMS because he had this idea in mind of connecting the idea of Mexico to the idea of a big city. His collection is bringing with it the big and the colorful cultural history of Mexico and establishing it in the future, in a dreamscape.
He unveils his first women’s collection “DREAMS” along with his men’s collection during this Spring 2015 show. His show has young models wearing a good amount of black and white, leather coats, and exposed arms. This makes the Waxarika style stand out so much more, with belts, sneakers, skateboards and Guitars all with intricate designs and bright yellows, reds and green.
The black and white is a great foil to the color, and makes draws the eye to the Waxarika contribution to Seco’s trendy style. The clothes seem more casual yet promote exclusive taste. His trend will be the trend for the future, and will hopefully promote the Waxarika design and bring it to the forefront of modern culture.
