Parkchoonmoo’s F/W ‘14 collection is all about re-interpreting the old collections, and “going back to the roots.” As this is Demi Park’s 25th anniversary of being in business, she is going back to what design personally means to her.
“Cubism” is the theme of this collection. Demi takes the cubes as building blocks in response to her quest of what creation means. The concept of cubism is reflected in the pattern of garments, and in the angular silhouette.
Very rich fabrications are used in the collection, such as alpaca, lamb leather, beaver, cashmere fused felts, and organic cottons. Cool tones such as navy, black, and white are the predominant colors in this collection.
Demi balanced out the collection by adding a strong presence of camel, hints of carmine red, a black and white big houndstooth, and metallic gold printed on wool. As Demi mentioned, “This collection is speaking of contrasts that combine, and neutralize each other: plus and minus equals zero, and out of that nothingness every piece claims its presence.”
Parkchoonmoo’s F/W ’14 attracted many female customers with its cool, modern and chic characteristics. Demi managed to translate, re-interpret, and neutralize her favorites from past collections to a better fit for today’s customers, and as well as give a conclusion for her 25 years of experience.
