Nautica Fall 2014

Article By Alan Tam

Bringing a new definition to the Fall/Winter look, designer Chris Cox designed a stunning collection for Black Sail by Nautica; made for a modern coastal man, which he presented on February 7 at 2 pm in the Salon at Lincoln Center.

Cox utilizes a mix of modern fabrics in both shiny and matte finishes with a dark color palette. The collection is filled with belted parkas, chunky sweaters, cashmere cardigans and trendy ski goggles. Countering the natural fibers is a range of nylon cargo trousers and digital printed vests.

Other standouts included sweaters with leather trim, slim colorblock pants, and nylon mesh hoodies. With Arthur Gosse opening the show in a stunning navy outfit paired with large trendy ski goggles to Danny Schwarz closing the show in a clean white outfit, each look definitely stood out from the rest and all worked together well.

With this collection, Cox has definitely found the right balance between fashion and the brand’s heritage, without losing sight of its technical roots.
