Katya Leonovich Fall 2014

Article by Ka Yee Chan

On February 10, 2014, Katya Leonovich presented her new Fall/Winter 2014 collection in the Pavilion of Lincoln Center at 3 pm.

Katya Leonovich’s couture collection featured the use of a lot of metallic textures, ruffles, and plenty of color.

Her aqua metallic deep-v party dress displayed a recurring “puffed up” detail to the pieces within the collection, and gave a festive feel to the outfit. A black mesh cocktail dress, designed with a balloon effect around the hips, was paired with a matching head piece.

Her pieces also featured the use of cut out patterns, such as, a silver embellished metallic down bubble coat with cut out circles on the back of the collar, and, similarly, a playful bronze metallic skirt featured the cut out circles style and detailed with a hanging pocket at the side, which was paired with a multicolor metallic woven blazer.

Her sheer wide iridescent pewter pants were ruffled at the calves, and paired with a black mesh cocktail jacket making for a festive, yet elegant, and businesslike look.
