The JSong Spring 2015 collection was presented on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at JSong’s studio. Designer Way Zen named the collection, Journey of a Modern Goddess, and every piece was created for a Goddess indeed. The Goddess of Compassion, who represents love, healing and beauty in variety of shapes, colors and textures, inspired the collection. The lineups of 32 elegant looks were distributed into four elements: air, water, fire and earth.

The air section of the collection embodied pure breath. We observed black and white flowy dresses cut in the most effortless lines, loose fitting blouses and pants in organic fabrics, and feminine lace details. This section of the collection expressed elegance in the modern women. The airy factor lays in the comfort and flow of the pieces.

The water section of the collection included goddess dresses and tunics embroidered in water lily flowers. These pieces were seen in muted green, khaki, and teal colors. The color choices spoke nature inspiration and calmness of the water and lily flowers. The dresses have beautiful shapes and playful shoulders, and they could speak to women of both young and old ages depend on how they accessorize.

The fire section of the collection exuberates passion. The showstopper was the graphic metallic jacket, which spiced up the simple and organic outfit underneath. We love how designer Way incorporated orange pieces cut as flame shapes but still have feminine touches. She picks very wearable shades of orange that are crafted with delicate details.

Last but not least, the earth section. The earth symbolizes beauty, and we see it in her collared printed shirts and easygoing pants. The colors she chose to create the pieces are mostly blue and green, and for this earth to remain its beauty and healthy environment, we have to keep the ocean as blue and nature as green as possible. In addition, most of her fabrics used are cotton and pure linen.

The hair and makeup of the models were also very refreshing and feminine. Most of the girls had two side braids tied to the back with wavy soft curls. The makeup was very simple and we saw gorgeous use of coral blush on the girls’ faces that made them glow. Overall, designer Way Zen created a very nature inspired, feminine and organic spring line that spoke to many in the audience, which included both younger and older women. The collection is very wearable to the everyday woman and leaves room for different ways of accessorizing.
