GULI Collection, renowned for its unique opulence that finds its roots in organic themes and spirituality, showed its Spring/Summer 2014 line at Art Week Style.Uz 2013.
The collection comprised of dresses, skirts, pants, and gowns, in natural handwoven fabrics, and gorgeous ikat and floral patterns in fantastic color combinations. Short sheath dresses embroidered and printed with fun, geometric designs and ankle length flowing skirts gave a romantic, bohemian vibe. Long silk gowns with loose sleeves and full skirts, which echoed a traditional Uzbek silhouette, looked elegant yet modern, and would be flattering for women of all ages.
Accessories included eye-catching, cut-out leather bags, and sequined ikat clutches. The GULI jewelry collection was bold, intensely colorful with gorgeous gems, great for daily wear and special occasion.
At the GULI Cocktail Evening, multi-talented designer of GULI, and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees Fund Forum, Ms. Gulnara Karimova and Ms. Yaffa Assouline unveiled a new book on Uzbekistan published by Assouline, the publisher of luxury books on fashion, travel, art, and lifestyles. The book promises visually stunning images of Uzbekistan, and I look forward to picking up a copy for myself! The new fragrance collection by Guli, Mon Rêve and Ikat d’Amour, were also introduced during the event.
