Fashion Shenzhen presented two of their finest Spring/Summer 2014 collections by Ellassay and Deng Hao at Lincoln Center for the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Fashion Shenzhen is part of the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association from Shenzhen, China, the fashion capital. Shenzhen is the forefront of Chinese fashion and home to over 800 brands. This was their first appearance in New York City.

Ellassay was the first to storm the runway. The collection, titled “The City Light”, was inspired by Avenue des Champs-Élysées, a street in Paris. The Spring/Summer 2014 collection featured both dark and bright tones. The first group of models donned simple and classic black and white pieces followed by lighter, spring hues of green, blue and beige.

The collection consisted of cigarette pants, tailored blazers, silk tops, and dresses. Led by design consultant, Jean Paul Knott, who worked with YSL for 12 years, this collection will definitely leave a lasting impression after its debut in New York.

Deng Hao continued to carry the momentum for Fashion Shenzhen. The collection was very distinctive and intricate. It featured pieces with a lot of different fabrics, woven designs and bright patterns.

Deng Hao’s inspiration sparks from architecture and the image of flowers. She is not hesitant to use a variety of colors and does not hold back to layer combinations of fabrics. Her collection was truly a collection of art in itself. Look out for the future of this brand.
