Falguni & Shane Peacock Spring 2012 Collection

For Spring/Summer 2012, the duo recreated the classic military fashion with a modern rock couture twist. A striking interweaving of reptilian scales and insect-like patterns are juxtaposed with clean-cut geometric shapes and digital prints.

Embellished pieces adorning the body and layers of chiffon against leather, metal against feathers that create a rich tapestry of armor for the modern woman. Heavy undertones are found with the structured shoulder pads, heavy embellishment and flashes of black: a collection that retains its feminine edge through sheer  detail, intricate embroidery and attention to the female form; a kaleidoscope of colors and jewels that hints towards the fragility of a bird’s plumage and strength of a warrior goddess in stand-alone pieces that command one’s attention. Celebrities that attended the show on September 9th, 2011, at The Studio at Lincoln Center included Joan Rivers, La La Vazquez and Porcelain Black, who walked the catwalk, closing what proved to be a mind-blowing show.
