CZAR by Cesar Galindo’s F/W ’14 presentation was at the Hub in Lincoln Center. He presented a strong and rich collection with the inspirations of fire and smoke.
As the presentation room’s door opened, the models were seen, powerfully and confidently standing on some metallic geometric displays. The metallic geometric displays were of different levels, so that the models could be seen in different angles. The metallic displays gave a futuristic feel to the presentation.
Galindo used velvet, leather, sequins and abstract prints to interpret his inspirations of fire and smoke. All the pieces seemed to have movements created by the textures of materials, abstract prints, and usage of colors. The floral cutouts on leather, unclear prints, and 3-dimensional textures enhanced the inspiration. The models were styled with a streak of blue/purple on the sides of their hair. Each of the girls were strong enough to stand individually, but the youthfulness and playfulness are not lost in this collection.
