Chelsea Liu is a dynamic, young, up-and-coming fashion designer with roots in Asia and an international outlook. After winning a major European design award while still a student, Chelsea used the prize money to begin her own couture gown and wedding dress studio in one of Seoul’s most fashionable districts. Her dresses have been worn by many of Asia’s top tastemakers and socialites. Several successful years at the cutting edge of Asian fashion has given her a fresh perspective that she wants to share with the rest of the world.
Chelsea graduated in 2011 from Chung Ang University in Film Studies, and concurrently pursued a master’s degree in international studies while opening and managing her own studio in Seoul and NYC Before opening her studio,Chelsea had already received accolades in a variety of creative endeavors. She published a short film called “necklace” in 2008, and later a longer short film called “still in love with you”. “still in love with you” was shown to great acclaim in the 2011 Busan International Film Festival. She gained broad experience and commercial knowledge working for global fashion brand H&M as an entry level stylist and designer in Tokyo, and worked on Forever 21’s illustration design team in New York City. She has also provided design assistance for Dolce & Gabbana as a Fashion Intern. In 2013, her career and global recognition soared upon winning the 2013 Asia’s Most Valuable Fashion Designer award in London, and in 2014 the designation Wedding Dress Designer of the Year.
