Antoni & Alison kicked off London Fashion Week

By Li-Yue Liang

The exhibition at London Fashion Week was kicked off by long-established British brand ‘’Antoni & Alison’ at 9 o’clock in Somerset House. This year London Fashion Week houses 110 designers, including 30 new designers, 62 catwalk shows and 20 presentations to take place over 5 days.

Today, Antoni & Alison not only showcase their latest works but also celebrate the label’s 25 years history. In order to celebrate this anniversary, they decided not to look back over the past, but look forward to creating “New Work” for the brand. ‘I hope that the new shines through,’ said Roberts.

The show started with a big brass band to welcome in the new season. The trumpets sounded with Antoni and Alison opening proceedings.

To remark their 25th anniversary, the brand reveals a ‘Birthday’ dress in a limited edition of 25 only. The ‘Plain Fancy’ dress will be available in their store and on their website from October of this year.

Antoni and Alison
Antoni and Alison met as students at Central St Martins and have worked together ever since. They started their business with no financial backing. Beginning with their now iconic ‘Be Happy’ t-shirt collection, Antoni & Alison have always been ‘ideas ’ based and have maintained a more ‘ Art Studio’ than ‘Fashion Studio’ slant throughout their 25 year career.
