ANN YEE held her Autumn/Winter 2013 presentation on Friday, February 8th 11am-1pm at Go Studios and it’s just beautiful!
This first thing that comes to mind when viewing Ann Yee’s work is how thoughtful the collection comes across. While some look to follow general trends in fashion, Yee seems to play with ideas that come from an inward perspective that transcends the eagerness look to look for contemporaries to hang next to on a sales rack—more power to her.
Knits reigned supreme in this Fall 2013 collection. Models were organically spread out in what looked like a snowy park scene complete with barren trees and a wooden park bench. Slouchy sweaters referencing menswear contrasted color-block dresses. All the while, flashes of neon among the neutral colors added a pop that made the overall look of the collection bolder. Not to be forgotten were the standout outwear pieces, such as the Rockburne cropped wool jacket and the Kline wool coat. Overall, Yee’s collections get better with each season and this time she did not disappoint.
