The 2015 AsianInNY Fashion show took place on September 26 at Grand Central Terminal, NY. This event drew thousands of audience to help celebrate Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live! and New York Fashion Week together. Most importantly, it was a celebration of Taiwanese culture in art, food, music, dance and fashion, an annual event hosted by Taiwan Tourism in New York.

Designers Malan Breton and Jessica Chen showcased their Spring/Summer 2016 collection. In addition to having Breton and Chen display their featured designs, the fashion show also featured the international fashion industry’s accessory experts including Jade Chiu and Wendy Chen. Hairstyles was done by ECRU New York; makeup by Cakra Fashion Makeup & Skincare; with eyewear provided by TC Charton, the first eyewear company dedicated to the design of gorgeous styles specifically for Asian features.

Jessica Chen’s collection was vibrant and colorful. it featured pieces siutable for women who engage in the work force. immediately i got an New York feel from her collection. This is something I can imagine seeing on the streets of New York. Jessica’s pieces are chic and looks very comfortable. This is also something you can wear during a night out for cocktails with your girlfriends after work.

This piece also by Jessica Chen. It stood out among the rest of her collection, with the bold red. The top of the dress also had patterns with touches of gold.

Malan Breton’s collection featured pieces for men and women. The men’s suit had a beautiful pattern perfect for the spring. It gives the outfits a distinctive look. One can also pair the blazers with a plain slacks or wear the printed slacks with a plain shirt.

This Piece was my favorite from the Breton’s men collection. I love the shade of brown with the black print.

Malan Breton women’s collection featured elegant gowns with colors that consists of pink, blue and purple.

All in all, the fashion show was a huge success and both designers’ collections are absolutely stunning.
