Who are the six chosen contestants:

Artist #1: The Fung Brothers

1. Self Intro – Tell us little bit about yourself, your background and your Asian ethnicity. We’re The Fung Brothers, two Chinese American comedians originally from Seattle and now basedin LA.  After we graduated from school in Seattle we decided to chase our dream of making a career out of entertainment!

2. How long have you been doing music on YouTube?

We’ve been doing YouTube for about 10 months.  We’re pretty new in the game compared to a lot of people who have been in it for 3 or 4 years.

3. What are you trying to achieve through your YouTube music?

We just want to spread our truth and inspire people to chase their dreams.  So many people out there have so much potential, but there’s an invisible barrier holding them back from really doing what they want.  Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone they relate to do something cool to make them think “Hey, maybe I could do that too!”  Every time someone comes up to us and says, “Your song gave me the extra push to finally start the blog I’d been thinking about for years” that’s such a gratifying experience.

4. Please list which musicians inspired you the most.

We’re huge fans of Jay-Z and Tupac.  MC Jin is another one.  We love people who really stand for something and want to spread a message to the world.  RIP to MCA aka Adam Yauch from The Beastie Boys, I remember growing up watching him use his platform as an entertainer to change the world and we still use that to this day as an example of how to positively impact the world.

5. Please share some of your upcoming plans, tours or exciting projects.

We’re in the process of planning a college tour for 2012-13 so if you’re reading this book us!  We also have a food lifestyle show that should be coming out this year and a couple TV appearances for The Travel Channel.  We want to throw a charity basketball game this upcoming fall in Monterey Park to raise money for Hepatitis B awareness so if you want to help out and do cool things in the 626 contact us at FungBrosComedy@gmail.com and let’s build!    It’s all about giving back!  Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/FungBrosComedy
