New York City has long been one of the leading centers of indie music movement.  Within it, Taiwanese musicians are also in the scene making music and hoping one day in reaching to the top.   Last year, the local Taiwanese communities held a concert named “Hello Taiwan Rocks!” in the Taiwan Center located in Flushing New York with four Taiwanese indie-bands based in the Greater New York area.   The concert provided a platform for the bands to perform while the fans got to listen to many amazing Taiwanese bands perform for a night of rock-and-roll, a cultural night to be remembered together before the Thanksgiving festivities.

Following rave reviews and feedback from last year’s audience, this year brings another line up of four terrific bands.  They are Coda Resistance, Exit Clov, Torpid May, and Bikini CarwashTaiwan Beer is onboard as a sponsor, an appropriate match to the event. It will be a night of Taiwan’s best entertainment, delicious food, and amazing drinks.

Flushing is where many of the Taiwanese immigrants settle when they first arrive in New York, and Taiwan Center was established to be the community hub for all Taiwanese events.  Though the concert is only in its second year, the organizers wish it to be an annual tradition to provide an opportunity for the indie bands to showcase their music and for the younger generation to unite, celebrate and network.
