NBA Games to Tie in with Chinese New Year

This year the NBA is looking to connect with its Chinese fan base and in an effort to do so they will stream 23 live broadcasts of NBA games played over the Chinese New Year. The 23 broadcasts will fall over eight days and from the 28th January to the 4th of February millions of NBA fans in China can watch games that are being held in New York and other states.

Teams like the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets will all take part in the games played over this period and there will be special Chinese New Year events that will tie in with the NBA schedule.

All teams who play on the 28th of January will do an official Chinese New Year attire sponsored by Adidas and there will be a series of social media competitions that will endeavor to bring China and American closer together on a social and sporting footing. NBA teams will also pay tribute to Chinese culture and dance performances, cuisine and other cultural events will be held over the course of the match days.

Basketball is having a huge impact on the Chinese sporting scene and for the NBA this collaboration between the Asian market and themselves is the marketing equivalent of hitting the jackpot at MobileCasino.mobi. Senior Vice President and chief marketing officer for Monumental sports and Entertainment in Washington, Joe Dupriest has said that immense Chinese interest in this typically American sport has been phenomenal and that he hopes the NBA events will help bring the two cultures even closer together.

Chinese interest in basketball has increased recently with Yao Ming playing for the Houston Rockets before he retired and Jeremy Lin playing for the New York Knickerbockers. The arrival of these players in the U.S gave Chinese viewers someone to root for and the attention of the U.S Chinese community was drawn.

The Chinese New Year events in the U.S are part of a global celebration and the NBA is determined that their efforts will resonate with the Chinese culture and help with international expansion and interest in the sport. Thanks to the NBA, Chinese New Year has now become a little bit more exciting and there is now even more to celebrate.
