Madison Avenue Celebrates Lunar New Year

The 5th Annual Madison Avenue Lunar New Year event kicked off on Saturday, February 1. Madison Avenue Business Improvement District also celebrated the Year of the Rat with a centuries-old tradition by installing wishing trees along Madison Avenue. Since ancient times, hanging wishes on trees for the New Year is synonymous with luck and good fortune, and is believed to encourage dreams to come true.

“Coming Together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success”. Successful partnership event with Madison Avenue, 24 Madison Retailers (i.e. Giorgio Armani, Graff Diamond, Marc Jacob), and 16 community groups. Together, we made history on Madison Avenue and celebrated Lunar New Year with hope and optimism. Close to 1,000 in actual attendance. Record turnout for Madison Avenue on a winter Saturday.” said by Conlyn Chan, co-organizer of Madison Avenue Lunar New Year Celebration.
