More than 1 thousand guests were invited by Andrew J.C. Kao, Ambassador and Director General of TECO in New York, to attend a special cocktail reception on Oct 9th at New York Marriott Marquis to celebrate Republic of China (Taiwan)’s 101 National Day, after many years of steady progress that runs across various sectors of national endeavors. AsianInNY was honored to be invited!
October 10, widely known as Double 10, is celebrated to remember the collapse of the Qing Dynasty and imperial rule in China, which were followed by the establishment of the Republic, and ultimately democratic Taiwan, which continues to give hope to humanity. The day presents an opportunity for the people of Taiwan to reflect on their collective achievements as a nation and renew their commitment to build on those solid gains, both nationally and internationally.
It was an amazing event and many VIPs were in attendance including Comptroller John Liu, Vice Chairperson of Taiwan FSC Jih-chu Lee, President of Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association Paul Ng , state Senator of Pennsylvania Michael Brubaker, government officials, diplomats and community leaders.
