October 10, widely known as Double 10, is celebrated to remember the collapse of the Qing Dynasty and imperial rule in China, which were followed by the establishment of the Republic, and ultimately democratic Taiwan, which continues to give hope to humanity. The day presents an opportunity for the people of Taiwan to reflect on their collective achievements as a nation and renew their commitment to build on those solid gains, both nationally and internationally.
