The 2014 Lunar New Year, Year of the Horse, AsianInNY brought close to 100 people from New York together to walk in the Atlantic City Parade.
Walking in the parade was one of the most memorable days, because of the awesome costumes that each person wore and the performances that were part of the parade. Costumes ranged from kings and queens, emperors, and princesses to Korean ladies’ and men’s costumes.
As can be seen, the costumes that some people wore were authentic, colorful, and traditional. All of these costumes and plays were specially designed to celebrate the Asian-lunar parade, because Lunar New Year is viewed as one of the most important Asian holidays. This day represents love, good fortune, and great joy.
The parade went from outside the casino, and into the boardwalk of Atlantic City. It was an experience that allowed individuals to enjoy the parade with their friends. Many people got the chance to make new friends and take pictures dressed in their colorful and unique costumes.
Many people also enjoyed the fascinating performances shown in the parade, which included performances, such as matching bands, lion dances, floats, and Shaolin Kung-Fu displays.
The participants in the parade received gifts, breakfast, buffet for lunch, and bus rides to Atlantic City, which were all free of charge.
After the parade, individuals got the chance to walk around the casino, go sightseeing, and also shopped at the popular outlets.
It is definitely recommended that people come and celebrate the Lunar New Year Parade with us every year. You won’t regret it!
