2014 Lunar New Year, year of the horse, AsianInNY brought many Asian individuals, close to 100, from New York together to walk the Atlantic City Lunar New Year Parade.

Walking in the parade was one of the most memorable days, because of the beautiful costumes that each person wore, and the awesome performances that were provided in the parade, such as kings and queens, from the emperors, princesses, Korean ladies and men’s dress, and so on.

As you can see, these are some costumes that some people got to wear.

All of these custom-plays were specially designed to celebrate the Asian-lunar parade, because Lunar New Year is viewed as one of the most important Asian holidays. This day represents love, good fortune and great joy.

The parade went outside the casino and into the boardwalk of Atlantic City. It was a great experience in the parade, which allowed individuals to enjoy the festivities with old and new friends. Many people got the chance to meet new friends and take pictures with them in their stunning costumes. Also, many people enjoyed the performances shown in the parade. The boardwalk parade includes special performances, such as matching bands, lion dances, floats and Shaolin Kung-Fu displays.

Participants in the parade also received lots of free gifts, breakfast, buffet for lunch, and bus rides to Atlantic City. After the parade, participants got the chance to walk around the casino. Sightseeing and shopping were also part of the trip.  It is definitely suggested that people come and celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year Parade every year. They won’t regret it!
