On Saturday, March 28th, Music Enkor presents the Amoeba Culture Tour 2015 in New York City, featuring artists Dynamic Duo, Primary, Crush, and Zion. T. The Amoeba Culture Tour 2015 is partnering with MOI’M, a creative networking organization and Korean American Family Service Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serve New Yorkers and create a violence- free community.
Music Enkor, MOI’M, and KAFSC held a press conference in New York City on March 17th. Representatives from all three organizations spoke about their willingness to give back to the Korean American Community.
“If we didn’t believe in the power that is stored in us to strategically and compellingly raise awareness and drive change then we wouldn’t be here,” said Esther Sin, social responsibility and outreach director at MOI’M about the Amoeba Culture Tour 2015 partnership.
Part of the proceeds from the Tour will go to KAFSC’s Youth Community Project Team, and Unni- Hyung Mentoring program. The Youth Community Project Team is a group of local high school students that focus on relationship abuse. The Unni- Hyung Mentoring Program is a one-to-one mentoring program that partners teenagers with mentors to encourage a healthy and supportive environment for each student.
“Were really excited about this collaboration because a lot of our youth listen to K-pop and they’re into the culture, so I think this is one way in which our students can see that the issue of relationship abuse doesn’t have to be completely separate from our enjoyment of K Pop culture and music, “ said Lydia Baek, the Youth Program Coordinator at KAFSC.
