The Taiwan Film Music Production Concert was held on November 13th at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York (TECO). The composers involved in this concert were: Cai-Jhen Jhu, Mitch Lin, Wen-Yu Lee, Meng-Mei Kuo, Shuo-An Chen, Chih Hsien Hsieh, and Ying-Chieh Wang.
It was very interesting to see these music compositions in person because with the actual orchestra right in front of me, the emotions portrayed by the actors/actresses in the short clips are much stronger. My favorite part of the concert was a piece called “Tiffany”, which was a clip of a Tiffany & Co. commercial. Along with the orchestra, the entire piece had a very romantic, dreamy, yet glamorous feel to it and it was fantastic.
Another piece that I really liked was called “World War Z”. The clip they used for the piece was the opening credits of the actual movie and the composition performed by the orchestra demonstrated an intensive, powerful and adventurous feeling to the entire piece.
