AsianInNY and Italian Language Inter-Cultural Alliance (ILICA) together is proud to offer two Asian recipients of the UNISTRASI (University of Siena for Foreigners) 2012 scholarships. With this opportunity, two members of AsianInNY will enjoy an all expense paid trip to study the Italian culture and language in Siena, Italy for one month!
Serving as a complimentary instrument towards our goals towards an inter-cultural organization, ILICA and University for Foreigners of Siena (UNISTRASI) have graciously offered this unique scholarship to AsianInNY for the second year in the row. Last year’s UNISTRASI 2011 winner was Alice Moy. You can check out her blog at www.blog.AsianInNY.com/Alice Moy.
After a 3 month screening process, ILICA chose Daisy Tang and Jennifer Ip to be the UNISTRASI 2012 winners. The two recipients will have the opportunity to learn the language at the University and enjoy the flourishing Italian culture and heritage! You can follow both girls as they take their journey into Italy by reading their blog postings during the month of August!
Who is Daisy Tang? Let’s take a look at her short bio:
Hi! My name is Daisy Tang. I am 21, Chinese-American, and a NYC native. I currently attend Fashion Institute of Technology, studying fashion design and business. I’ve always had a chronic case of the travel bug with Asia. Though, this August, I will be living it up in… Italy! Follow me in my escapades as I set out on and off the beaten path exploring all that’s best, special, and sheerly irresistible about this country – from the quirkiest words and facts to the most out-of-this-world dishes, from the craziest local cultures to the most jaw-dropping artistic feats. I promise, your senses will be sent reeling.
What about Jennifer Ip?
Hi everyone, my name is Jennifer! I’m a graphic designer, currently enrolled at Pratt Institute and working towards my graduate degree. Thanks to AsianInNY’s scholarship, I will be studying at UNISTRASI in Siena, Italy August 2012. I hope to share my time there with you all (be warned, there will be lots of food pics). Feel free to chat with me or comment on my blog!
We are very pleased with ILICA’s selection as we believe both Daisy and Jennifer are excellent ambassadors for AsianinNY and ILICA to study at the UNISTRASI in Siena, Italy – a city with an illustrious Italian history.
We congratulate Daisy and Jennifer for being chosen for this once in a lifetime opportunity offered by ILICA and UNISTRASI. Please follow each of our winners by reading their blog posting as they journey their way into the beautiful Italian country. Bon voyage, we will see you both back in New York after the summer!
