The sequel to Stephen Fung’s “Tai Chi Zero”, Fung directs the second installment titled “Tai Chi Hero” about Lu Chan (Jayden Yuan) and his journey to find a home in Chen Village in hopes of acquiring the skills of a Tai Chi master. Tai Chi Zero played both the Venice and Toronto film festivals last fall. Coming to NY theater on 4/26/2013, “Tai Chi Hero” martial arts phenomenon is from the creators of IP MAN and DETECTIVE DEE,with choreography by action legend Sammo Hung.

Chan struggles to be accepted in the community until his opportunity to prove himself arises. A group of soldiers with frightening steam-powered machine attacks Chen Village and Chan steps in to save the town. As a result, Yuniang (Angelababy) the daughter of Grandmaster Chen (Tony Leung Ka-Fai) agrees to marry Lu Chan for the sole purpose of teaching him Tai Chi; she is strictly his teacher and he is only her student.
As Chan becomes more familiar with the village, his presence becomes a curse. Chen Village is in danger, prodigal brother returns to the village and Yuniang’s scorned fiancée seeks revenge. This second installment, from the creators of Ip Man and Detective Dee, is full of action packed fight scenes directed by legendary, Sammo Hung.
“Tai Chi Hero” contains steampunk-infused, video game-influenced kung fu and martial arts fight scenes that will make you feel immersed in the movie. A mix of Shaolin Soccer and Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon, “Tai Chi Hero”, the second in a trilogy, is filled with family bond, action and leaves you wanting for more.
